Family boutique winery
Kastel Sikuli is a family boutique winery that has been on the market since 2019, ie the 2018 harvest. The winery owns a vineyard in Kaštel Novi on 13.000 square meters and two smaller vineyards in dalmatian inland with 3000 vines.
Although Kastel Sikuli is a new project and a young winery, the Kovačević family has experience in wine production. Ivica Kovačević has been the director of one of the most successful wineries in Croatia for many years and has now decided to use his knowledge and experience to start his own winery. He started the Kastel Sikuli winery together with his sons Ivan and Tomislav, to whom he passed on his knowledge of grape growing and wine production.

Ancient settlement of Sikuli
The inspiration for the name was the ancient settlement of Sikuli, which was founded in the second century BC by the Greeks from the island of Issa. Sikuli was known for the production and sale of wine, as evidenced by the rich collection of amphorae and mega glasses found at the site. The archeological site Sikuli is located in the immediate vicinity of the winery and indicates a long tradition of wine production in this area.
